Q: What is A.I.med?
A: A.I.med is an all-in-one Scheduling, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Billing software system for small to medium sized healthcare offices of all specialties. Built from the ground up using a state-of-the-art programming engine, A.I.med is designed to be fast, easy-to-learn & use, and very affordable.

Q: Does A.I.med have a built in backup system?
A: Unlike many other systems on the market, A.I.med comes with automatic backup software that can be set to automatically backup your data on a daily basis up to five times per day. This data can then be transferred to any form of removable media like an external hard-drive, CD or tape system.

Q: Will we be required to purchase a maintenance/service contract?
A: Acrendo offers annual maintenance contracts for toll-free telephone technical support and product updates. While all users are encouraged to have a maintenance contract, we do not require you to purchase one.

Q: Does A.I.med support electronic faxing?
A: Yes, A.I.med supports electronic faxing directly from your workstations/Tablet PC's without your reports/prescriptions ever touching paper. Electronic faxing is accessible throughout the system in both the Electronic Medical Record and Billing modules.

Q: Is the system secure, and can I control who gets what access privileges?

A: Yes, each user has their own unique name and password to access A.I.med. The administrator can set individual privileges to access every part of A.I.med. When a user leaves their station, A.I.med can be returned to the login screen for secure access.

Electronic Medical Records (EMR)

Q: How are daily notes entered into the software?
A: A.I.med uses a combination of customizable point and click templates and narrative style note generators. These two styles are often used together where a provider would document vital, HPI, ROS, medication, allergy, immunization and specialty specific exam information into a template then import that data into a narrative template for final revision or dictation. A.I.med integrates with Dragon Naturally Speaking 7 and 8 for voice recognition capabilities.

Q: Does A.I.med support custom forms/templates?

A: Yes, you can create custom forms/templates in our EMR, or if you prefer we can create them for you. A.I.med's EMR supports a nearly unlimited number of custom forms.

Q: Does A.I.med offer E&M Level Coding?
A: Yes, A.I.med offers an add-on module for Evaluation & Management (E&M) level coding.

Scheduling

Q: Can I create custom office hours and visit types for my practice?

A: Yes, A.I.med allows you to customize the practice hours and physician hours to suit the way your practice operates. A.I.med also supports the creation of custom visit types and color coding of the visit types.

Q: Is it easy to re-schedule a patient, and can I schedule them with another resource?
A: Yes, it is very easy to re-schedule a patient by holding down the shift key, then selecting the patient. Once you do that, you can select any open day, time and resource. AImed makes re-scheduling fast and easy, all from one screen.

Q: Can I book multiple patients into one time slot?
A: Yes, you can book up to 3 patients into one time slot. Time slots can also be customized to be anywhere from 5 minutes to 2 hours, permitting you to have as many as 3 patients booked per 5 minute time slot.

Billing

Q: Does A.I.med support electronic billing?
A: Yes, A.I.med supports both electronic and HCFA-1500 billing. A.I.med offers electronic billing through Net Health Claims - a nationwide electronic clearinghouse. NHC offers two different pricing plans 1) Pay per claim at $0.35/claim or 2) $70/month per provider for unlimited e-claims.

Q: Can I leave payments in the queue for processing at another time?

A: Yes, A.I.med will store payments in the queue for processing at a later date or time. The same concept applies to A.I.med's pre-processing queue enabling billers to review all claims before they are submitted to the e-biling/HCFA queue.

Q: Can I send my payment information directly to Quickbooks from A.I.med?
A:Yes, there is an additional module that allows you to submit all your payment data to Quickbooks.
